Fibromyalgia/Myofascial Pain
What is
Fibromyalgia/Myofascial Pain
?

Fibromyalgia affects approximately 5-10 percent of the population. It is characterized by tight, tender muscles, usually sore points in the neck, shoulders, chest, back, knees and hips. Insomnia and depression often are associated with the condition. There are no known causes for fibromyalgia although trauma appears to sometimes be a common cause.
Diagnosis often involves ruling out other illnesses. Treatment is primarily exercise and may include some kind of medications and in many cases, bio-electrical therapy is effective.
